Construction Update

The foundation was poured on April 21, 2008 for the new multi-purpose sanctuary. We used this occasion as an opportunity to place the ashes of Ray Wellington in the foundation of the building. Ray was a faithful leader in our congregation for many years until his death six years ago. He is also the leader who prompted the vision for renovated and expanded facilities as a way of better enabling the church to provide an effective witness in this community well into the 21st century. We are building this church and ministry upon the firm foundation of faith of those who have gone before us.

Search for New Worship Leader

Called to Praise God with Your Music?

We are a beach area church looking for an energetic and dynamic worship leader to develop and lead a music ministry that will move, inspire and draw worshipers into the presence of God. We are a multigenerational church seeking a person to lead us in new and exciting directions incorporating contemporary and traditional music styles. This person would be expected to share his or her creativity by collaborating with the pastor and others to expand our worship ministry. To learn more click here to see the job description. This mission has created a powerful energy and focus for our church. As people rely on the Bible, we encourage sharing their questions and insights with one another. This develops a deeper and more meaningful relationship with God and with each other.

We are intentional about ministry in our community and world. We believe studying God's word, growing together, and reaching out to others is a fulfillment of our call as disciples of Christ to Open Wide Your Hearts!

We are an intergenerational community of faith where casual attire is the norm. We have been a part of the Pacific Beach community for over 50 years and are making some important transitions to insure our ministry will remain vital and dynamic for the next 50 years.
