Because of our emphasis on inter-generational ministry we are interested in providing more opportunities for people to come together for edification and support regardless of age or marital status. Monthly or bi-monthly gatherings are important in fostering a genuine sense of community and relationship-building. The following are examples of these fellowship opportunities:

Our purpose is to provide opportunities for spiritual growth through creative ministries that enrich, educate, and develop a sense of personal responsibility for the whole mission of the church of Jesus Christ while being supportive of Pacific Beach Christian Church's outreach projects.

We are connected to people in the world through projects for peace and outreach. We help feed and clothe local people through organizations like CCSA. We send money for blankets and tools to Church World Service. We make stuffed animals for children under the care of the Child Protective Service at Children's Hospital. We collect soup labels for Woodhaven Home in Missouri for the severely handicapped.

We are a group of women who love each other and want to spread the love of Jesus to others. We have two groups; the first meets the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 10:30 am and the second meets the 2nd Wednesday of every month at 10 am.

Lay Care Ministry
Pacific Beach Christian Church has a new, and evolving Lay Care Ministry. The Lay Care Team is made up of people in the church who want to meet with people in need. Individuals on the team will meet with people who are needing someone to listen to them as they face grief, illness, lonliness, etc., someone to help with an errand, someone to drive them somewhere and someone to pray with and for them.

Our Pastor identifies members in the congregation who might be in need of making a connection with a compassionate person on the team. If other's who may need help or prayer want to come forward, the team is here to be of service. We will be using the pew prayer cards as one way to communicate to the team that help may be needed.

The team's work is confidential and the training that they receive will help them to be the best listeners that they can be. They will not give advice or counsel, but be there in prayer and support where need arises.The Lay Care Team is eager to begin this new way of sharing God's love.
