MINISTRY DESCRIPTION

Summary of Ministries

Under the leadership of the Senior Pastor, the Worship Leader is a musician who provides oversight to the Sunday morning worship and holiday/special worship services.  He/she demonstrates a spiritual maturity through faith in God and a love of worship, demonstrates a strong musical background, and works effectively with a multi-generational congregation.

The Worship Leader will demonstrate dedication and commitment to the mission of Pacific Beach Christian Church through the effective development of worship services and his/her own personal growth and knowledge.

Ministry Responsibilities:

Worship/Services

1. Work closely with the pastor(s) and worship leaders to assure that congregational worship is Christ-centered and joy-filled.
2. Plan, provide and coordinate weekly worship services to include music, liturgy, art, and use of multi-media.
3. Plan, provide and coordinate worship services for all church holidays and seasonal gatherings.
4. Provide and/or coordinate music as requested for special church events such as weddings and memorial services.

General Ministries

1. Develop musical groups from within the congregation as appropriate, such as a praise band, worship team, choir, or specialty groups.
2. From within the congregation, develop and foster musical talents and abilities of individuals.
3. Arrange for purchase of church music and other resources for worship service (i.e. multi-media supplies).
4. Assist with the development and oversight of the budget for worship ministry.
5. Oversee maintenance and repair of church equipment used in worship.
6. Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to grow with a congregation in transition.
